Easy Lake District Walks

Classic Wainwright Walks

Walk in Wainwright's footsteps.

Alfred Wainwright (1907 - 1991) shared what he called a love affair with the Lake District. He was a fell walker and writer. His 214 routes to the summit of Lakeland fells were published in the seven-volume guide Pictorial guide to the Lakeland Fells. He later wrote many other books including long distant walks amongst which is the first route of the Coast to Coast which is still hugely popular today. Later on in his life, he became a TV personality featuring in a collection of walking series and a documentary of his life.

Wainwrights walks and routes have inspired so many to get out walking in the hills and started many people heading out and 'bagging Wainwrights' - a practice where you climb as many of Wainwrights summits as possible.

If you'd like to walk a Wainwright with a local friendly guide just let us know what mountain/mountains you have in mind and we'll do the rest!

Suitable for: All who like to walk.

Fitness Level: Moderate to High

Duration: Full day or multiple days.

Location: Lake District

Price: £250 1-4 people then £20pp thereafter
