West Lakes Adventure and Path to Adventure

We are excited to announce that as of 2025, West Lakes Adventure is under new ownership and will now be joined with Path to Adventure. Two companies whose values and ethos align perfectly, are merging together to offer even more exciting outdoor activities both in the Western, Southern and Central lakes!

How West Lakes Adventure & Path to Adventure came to be...

We, Al and Heather - directors of Path to Adventure Ltd, founded in 2017, have been working in the outdoor industry for over 20 years. Having worked for West Lakes Adventure as associates almost a decade ago, we knew the business and area well and became friends with Steve and Caroline. Inspired by them and the wish to fulfil a dream of having our own business, we decided to set up Path to Adventure and followed a similar business model and lived by a similar set of values. A number of years later, a lot of hard work and with a dedicated professional staff team, Path to Adventure has gone from strength to strength with customers returning year on year to experience our high-quality activities.

Fast forward to January 2025 when Steve and Caroline called us up and announced that they wished to hand over the reins of West Lakes Adventure and pursue new adventures themselves; we didn't have to think long before deciding that taking over West Lakes Adventure would work extremely well with our current business and would allow clients access to a broader range of activities and locations across the both the Western, Southern and Central Lake District.

We enjoyed the Dark Sky Canoeing experience on Coniston Water as a 50th birthday celebration adventure. Heather and Al are lovely hosts, and I really enjoyed their calm, encouraging guiding style when we were on the water. As a novice pair of Kayakers we felt in very safe hands. A night to remember!

Fantastic time, would definitely recommend. Myself and 2 teenage sons (19 and 17) all loved the Ghyll Scrambling. I’d been worried about being cold but the good quality wetsuits plus socks kept me warm.
Monty was a perfect guide, making the experience great fun and enjoyable for all ages.

Chris ran a fantastic session for us - he was calm, kind and patient with slightly nervous children (and adults!) Everything was well run, safe, and fun and I couldn't recommend Path To Adventure highly enough.
