"As the Best Man, arranging activities for a stag party of 17 lively lads can be a daunting task, but Path to Adventure made it an absolute breeze and delivered an experience that exceeded all expectations!
We opted for the Ghyll Scrambling, and from the initial enquiry to the very last splash, their team was nothing short of brilliant. The instructors were incredibly engaging, striking the perfect balance between keeping us safe and ensuring maximum fun. Their knowledge of the area and the activity was truly impressive, making everyone feel confident and excited, even those who were a bit hesitant at first.
They handled our large group of 17 men with incredible professionalism and a fantastic sense of humour, keeping spirits high throughout. Every single one of the lads had an absolute blast, and it was undoubtedly the highlight of the stag weekend.
If you're looking for an outdoor adventure company that is brilliant, engaging, knowledgeable, and can handle a large group with ease, look no further. Highly, highly recommend Path to Adventure for any event – they truly delivered an unforgettable" experience!

We often get asked where the best places are to stay for a Stag Do in the Lakes so heres our run down of the most visited locations that are within easy reach of our activities and why!

Bowness at night.jpg

Bowness & Windermere (Central Lakes)

Very busy well known towns - this is a popular choice for Stag Dos.

Pros: Its very central and easy to get to with plenty of places to eat and drink. Bowness is right next to the lake and has more shops, cafes, pubs and places to eat but you can easily walk from Windermere to Bowness in about 10/15 minutes. You can get out on the lake easily by hiring a boat or getting on a steamer.

Cons: Whilst it is very picturesque - its is also one of the busiest places you can go and has lots of visitors year round. This can be a pro or a con depending on the vibe you are looking for.

Ambleside (Central Lake District)

Very busy well known towns - this is a popular choice for Stag Dos.

Pros: Its very central and easy to get to with plenty of places to eat and drink. Bowness is right next to the lake and has more shops, cafes, pubs and places to eat but you can easily walk from Windermere to Bowness in about 10/15 minutes. You can get out on the lake easily by hiring a boat or getting on a steamer.

Cons: Whilst it is very picturesque - its is also one of the busiest places you can go and has lots of visitors year round. This can be a pro or a con depending on the vibe you are looking for.

Coniston Lake District.jpg

Coniston (Southern Lake District)

A smaller village in the south lakes with a good selection of local pubs, cafes and a few local shops.

Pros: Fantastic location if you want to walk in the hills, sit outside a country style pub, chill out with a good local beer and eat some hearty pub grub. Perfectly located to walk up 'The Old Man of Coniston' and also on the edge of Coniston Water if you fancy a quick dip! 20 mins to Ambleside and Langdale.

Cons: Not the vibe if you are planning a rowdy night out. Less shops if you want to stock up on gear whilst you are in the Lakes!

Eskdale View.jpg

Eskdale (Western Lake District)

A picturesque valley in the heart of the western mountains full of local accommodations and plenty of country pubs.

Pros:  Perfect if you want to get away from it all and want a quieter vibe. This stunning valley is absolutely brimming with local pubs full of great beer and fantastic food all of which are quite close together. Great location to walk stright from the door and 25 mins to the Wasdale valley in which there are loads of big mountains such as Scafell Pike and also the very spectacular Wastwater. Lots of big accommodations and tons of campsites. Very friendly locals.

Cons: If you are looking for shops and hustle and bustle this isn't the place.
